It’s a new year! How many of you are happy to say goodbye to 2020? It has been a year filled with struggle and anxiety. A year of staying home, social distancing and face masks. A year of division.
But TODAY is a new day! It is a new year! Can I pray over you?
Lord, I thank You for who You are! I thank you that You are always with us. Your Word promises us that You will never leave us or forsake us (Deuteronomy 31:5). You are right here, beside us….at every moment of the day. I thank You that You are not a god of Sundays only. You love us so much and desire to be involved in every little detail of our life. Every little detail of our life is important to You. Not because of who we are, but because of who You are. That is the kind of Father that You are! That is how much You love us!
As we enter this new year, we pray that You increase our HOPE, JOY, PEACE as we keep our eyes on YOU. We draw near to You. Father, we step into this new year with GREAT EXPECTATION because we know that YOU are in our midst and working behind the scenes. As we go through each day, open our eyes to be able to see just how amazing and good You are! Help us to become more aware of You. Stir up our spirit to seek You more. Give us a thirst for You that only You can quench.
Jesus, You are our only hope and we give You thanks for giving the ultimate sacrifice….Your life…for ours. You counted us worthy enough to die for us. And it is in Your name, Jesus, that we pray. Amen.

The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn His face toward you and give you peace.

There is your blessing! Straight from God, the Father! We don’t need no stinkin’ black eye peas! HaHa! Just kidding! I love the tradition of black eyed peas on New Year’s Day but I certainly don’t depend on that to bring me luck. My eyes are on Christ.
This is the year, my friend. The year that you will grow even closer to the Lord. You will be more aware of God working for your benefit. And when you "see" it happen, you will be in awe! Get excited! Be encouraged! He is relentless in His love for you.
