We have been given JESUS-AUTHORITY! It is a precious gift to believers in Him.
We have the authority, from Jesus, to trample on snakes and scorpions; to take back what the enemy has stolen from us!
How do I do that? By speaking God’s Word over my life! Over and over until it’s soaked through my flesh and into my spirit.
Thank You, Jesus!
“For though we walk in the flesh [as mortal men], we are not carrying on our [spiritual] warfare according to the flesh and using the weapons of man. The weapons of our warfare are not physical [weapons of flesh and blood]. Our weapons are divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses.”

“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” Ephesians 6:12 NIV
I give You praise and glory, Lord! And heartfelt thanks for giving me the words to defeat the enemy!
But in order to defeat the enemy, I, first, must know the Word of God. I am more determined than ever to go deeper into the Word of God. I am determined to set aside all my distractions and spend additional time reading and studying the Word of God.
Do YOU feel it? Like God is calling us to a higher level. If we want more of the things of the Kingdom, we must be willing to allow Him to mold us into His image.
The Lord has been gently pointing out, to me, those things that I should put aside for Him. As my hunger for Him continues to grow, He has been showing me how and where to make changes in my life to align myself to His heart and to experience His manifest presence.
For example, not long ago, I noticed that when I would play a certain game on my phone, I would experience an avalanche of negative thoughts. These were random thoughts that came out of nowhere. And before I recognized what was happening, a seed of doubt, resentment and sometimes even anger, was planted into my spirit. And then I would spend hours in a spiritual battle overcoming and demolishing those thoughts with God’s Word.
I remember asking the Lord ‘Why does this keep happening?’ He gently replied ‘When you play that game, you are opening the doorway to negative thoughts.’
Whooooa!
Now, don’t get upset. I am not saying that playing a game on your phone is evil. And I don’t believe that is what the Lord was implying, either. But I do want to point out how easily and deceptively the enemy can and will come against you.
“Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.” 1 Peter 5:8 NIV
Even after the Lord showed me the root of my problem…did I immediately get rid of the game? 🙄 That’s a big fat NO. I thought ‘Now that I know what is happening, I will be vigilant and cast down those thoughts right away.’
Wrong!
I spent a whole day trying to reject some negative thoughts about a sweet sister in Christ! A WHOLE DAY! I was exhausted. But as I reached for my phone to play my game, it finally clicked. GET RID OF THIS GAME!!
Looking back, I believe I was in sin. My heavenly decrees and spoken Holy Words had no power. God had given me direction and like the Israelites, I was being stiff-necked and wanted to do “it” my way.
Lord, I’m so sorry 😢. Not only did I ignore Your wisdom and revelation but I also thought I could overcome the enemy without You. Thank You for grace and forgiveness.
When I ignored the Lord’s warning, I gave away my JESUS-AUTHORITY. Lesson learned. Help me, Lord, to be alert and sober minded.
Always be alert, my friends. Our enemy, the devil, is seeking to whom he can devour. Sometimes, it could be through an innocent looking game. I am sure thousands play this game with no “adverse effects”, but for me, I am definitely allergic.
And the end result? I have peace again! I feel my Abba Father is smiling at me and is pleased with me. And don’t we all want to please Him? When you have an authentic hunger for more of Him, His desires for you will become your desires.
